VitXi Inboxes on Multi-Tenant Carrier Plus

On a multi-tenant Carrier Plus licensed system, VitXi users see ‘Inboxes’, which subsequently notifies them that “This area requires an upgrade”. Get rid of that ASAP please. It’s one thing to actively upsell to sys admins, but certainly not to our end users on Carrier Plus licenses where we white-label and support your product. That is the whole point of a Carrier license, which clearly no longer includes everything and now takes a back seat to this new VitalPBX One license.

If License == Carrier Plus, then hide Inboxes.

Hello,

Please run the following commands:

sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y

Then reload the application by clearing your cache (Ctrl + F5) or by opening it in incognito mode.

The app will now display a generic message, and the plan alert will only be visible to super admin users.

We will add a new permission to completely hide the tab in a future release.

We purchased a perpetual licence for Carrier Plus a couple of years ago, and following the recent VitXi updates, we lost access to the SMS feature.

SMS was included with our licence, and it appears that it has now been moved behind an additional paywall.

We would appreciate it if this could be reviewed, as removing a feature that was originally included does not seem consistent with the intent of a perpetual licence.

I would be more than happy to discuss this further by opening a new ticket, if you prefer.

In any case, we truly appreciate the service and the quality of the product.

Note that SMS does still “work” in VitXi’s MT license. What you’re seeing is the Inboxes feature, which is a tool for teams to collaborate with SMS messages. An SMS message destined for an extension will still come into VitXi, and that VitXi extension/user can send SMS.

But I agree - this rollout of the Inboxes feature has been less than stellar as it pertains to partner licenses. We (Carrier+ licensees) are literally stuck with not being able to not only hide that “Inbox”, but being able to at least upgrade to it without buying a whole new license. I think ideally it should carry it’s own license that can be applied just like any other Add-on license, while at the same time grandfather in existing Carrier+ licensees to have access to it since we were sold and purchased on the premise of getting the full-meal-deal.

We’re preparing a major migration of our remaining customers from another platform that is widely disliked by its partners :wink:, to VitalPBX. That was the missing piece.

I completely agree that an add-on licence would be an acceptable compromise.

I would even suggest renaming the current “VitalPBX Connect” licence to the “VitalPBX One Add-on Licence.” When added to an extension, that extension should also receive all VitalPBX One subscription features, since the add-on itself is a subscription. Now, implementing this in the code is another thing maybe.

For now, please hide the darn Inbox message :sweat_smile:
