We have a ThinkTel trunk configured and while testing calls, we noticed that the pilot number (username corresponding to a 10 digits number) is being displayed on outbound calls. We looked at our configuration and we find no way to force it to use CID extensions information. Below is the CID in the extension.
Here is the associated configuration in the ThinkTel trunk. As you can seem the Override CID is set to NO and based on the documentation, it shall take the CID from the extension.
Thanks for your help! The From User parameter is not populated as shown in the screenshot below. We also check usin sngrep and we didn’t find anything that would explain the pilot is used.
In the extension, we changed the External CID name and DID name to something different to check whether the field is correctly picked up. If CID name is changed, it does reflects on the call. If DID is changed, the field is still ignored. Any combination of the 2 fields give the same result as explained.
Just a follow up for everyone in case they encountered the same problem. ThinkTel does not activate automatically the custom CID upon new trunk activation. We need to contact them. Otherwise, pilot number will be sent by default.
