Recordings Management Prompts

If you have an existing greeting and you dial the Recording Code, it immediately asks you to record your message. The system we came from gave you the option to first press 1 to listen to the existing message, and then 2 to re-record. If this could be added to the menu that would be great.

I’d like to see this as a default as well.

You can listen to the audio from the GUI before dialing the code!

We typically don’t give end users access to the gui since it’s fairly complicated. Giving the option to listen to it when dialing in to voicemail would be much more user friendly.

I’ve had multiple users comment that they would like to be able to listen to the current greeting without calling in which is what they normally do to verify things.

The initial post is regarding the “Recording Management” add-on.

About Voicemail, if you use the Voicemail app/feature, the voicemail give you the options to update the Recordings. I don’t re-call if allows you to listen to the existing recordings or not!

I was talking about a recording with an assigned recording code under recording management.

I just tested setting a reccording code to *293 for a recording and dialing it. The phone picks up immedialely saying “say your message then press the pound key”. Ideally this would say something like “Press one to listen to your current recording or two to record”. Then after recording “Press one to accept this recording or * to record again”.

I’m going through the audio files now, a lot of the base audio files (especially night mode activated/deactivated) could be redone much nicer using AI voices now. Also moving from ulaw to g722 is very noticeable to users assuming they’re calling in using their phone with g722. Although this is probably good in a separate topic.
