Pickup groups alerting wrong phones

I recently created several pickup groups, which seem to work great. However, I have noticed that a phone with an extension not associated with any of the pickup groups will also be alerted if they have a BLF for an extension that is associated. Is this the expected behavior?

BLF status can be checked by any phone that has the key configured. What pickup groups do is only allow other extensions within the same pickup group to actually pickup calls from other extensions via *08 or *07+Extension within their same group.

Should the extensions not in a pickup group be getting the visual and audio alerts?
Coming from a Cisco system and only extensions in the group got the alerts and was expecting the same.

After doing some more research over the weekend I have found out the issue is with yealink phones.
