I have a request from the school board to investigate an option for creating a panic button on the phones.
I assume it would be some sort of speed dial that dials an extension or ring group that connects the call automatically, has some sort of configurable tone to indicate its an emergency and is 1 way audio so that the receiving party can hear what is happening in the room. Obviously caller ID to know where the emergency is and an email alert to configurable email addresses.
Does anybody have any ideas on how to accomplish this?
A paging group?
Also, IIRC, Clearly IP phones allows you to call a panic destination without showing on the screen that it places a call.
That was great.
The only thing would be an additional option to send an email alert, much like when 911 is called.
