I was doing testing on vpbx 4 and I found that the EN language sounds are missing the ‘beep’ sounds. I noticed the issue when trying to set up voicemail and the system hung up prior to recording the greeting name. The error in the logs was ‘File beep does not exist in any format’.
Downloading the Asterisk sound pack from Index of /pub/telephony/sounds and copying beep.alaw and beeperr.alaw to /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/en fixed the issue.
My question is whether the sound packs are the same as the ‘standard’ ones on the Asterisk site. Note that I haven’t checked to see if any others are missing.
