How exactly does the licensing service work?

I know when you first put the license in it goes out to the licensing service to verify your license.

For the Monthly and Yearly subscription licensing how often does it go out and check?

We have two new systems going in.

  1. Yearly subscription for 25 users so $225.00 per year.
  2. Monthly Subscription for 125 users so $125.00 per month.

Does the system check daily, weekly, monthly or yearly for these?
Do we need to have the customer setup their firewall to allow to another country?
