External internal calls

Has anyone found a way to tell internal calls from external calls via different ringing tones or cadence.
my customer requested this after moving from old pbx which had different ring patterns.
using v4.5.0.7 or would this be a request feature

You can get different ring types by configuring the Alert Info Ring Settings on your phones and then setting the appropriate matching header either in your queues or directly in your inbound routes in the alert info field.

Here is an example on a Fanvil phone (ideally your alert info setting would be added to your provisioning templates), alert info settings are configured for appointment and inbound. Each one gets a different ring type, Type 1 for appointments and Type 5 for inbound calls

On the PBX side, I set the alert info for each on their respective queues, here is the example for the general questions queues, which is going to ring with TYPE 1 as I am sending the inbound alert-info value.

Forgot to add, set your values alert info values to a different ring type than the default one used by your phone. Fanvils for instance default to Type 2.

that worked but im not using queues currently using time conditions as need to use night messages feature
can we have alert info on any other apart from queues?

You can also set the alert-info in your inbound routes directly as well.

You can change the default music on hold of the queue to None (Ringback) in order for the caller to listed to the phone ringing.

found it had music enabled in queue :slight_smile:
