Extensions: Voicemail recording not saving

G’day!

Hopefully a quick one, I am currently having an issue with saving a new message for voicemail on extensions. Using any extension in our system with the default voicemail access *97 I can navigate as normal to record a new message, 0 > 1 or 0 > 2, but when I go to finalize it doesn’t update the current audio file, nor can I find it saved anywhere to apply manually.

If I instead use *92, I can save an individual audio file and actually find it myself, but this method doesn’t automatically apply it anywhere or update the audio file in an extension. I’ve had a look over a few forum posts and bits of the documentation but cannot find a solution for this - hoping to get some advice!

Do you have anything set in the GUI under the extension voicemail Busy Prompt or Unavailable Prompt?

For the Tenant/Extension in question there is a currently configured message that was placed uploaded to the recordings menu and then placed in, and the intention was to overwrite it whenever was necessary from the extension *97 menu. I have also tested this on an extension with an empty file selection however, and it also did not work.

If you set a VM messages from the GUI its not possible to overdrive from the voicemail menu,
If nothing is set in the GUI and its still not playing the message check the voicemail folder /var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/<tenant>/<extension> if you see the busy.wav or the unavil.wav file
