Existing users do not see when a name is changed on a Yealink Phone

We have a customer who wanted a name changed on an existing extension.

When they call they get called by the user it still shows the previous name of the extension instead of the new one.

So let’s say x1234 used to be Jane Doe and we changed to Bob Dylan.

When x1234 calls x5678 it will shows Jane Doe is calling them.

Looking at the PJSIP it shows that the name sent is Bob Dylan but the phone is ignoring it.

I think the issue is that the phone history or contact directory is being stored on the old phone, but where do I change that is the VitalPBX database or maybe even delete it.

  1. Make sure “Internal CID” is also updated
  2. Make sure it’s not saved in the phone’s phonebook
  3. Clear the phone’s call log
