End User Documentation

Other than the documentation found on this page - https://wiki.vitalpbx.com/ - is there any end user documentation currently or in the works? We use the multi-tenant product as a reseller. All of the documentation I have seen so far includes highly technical information, admin information, or pricing. My regular end users don’t need any of that, only how to use the products themselves on a daily basis, such as basic functions/use of the mobile app, or how to do at least basic things in the portal such as call reports, editing their extension name, accessing voicemail, etc. So far, I have taken elements from the existing documentation and clips of the mobile app video.

We don’t provide documentation other than the one you pointed out!

There is a series on YouTube as well as a course on Udemy. But it is also technical.

Thank you both. I figured this would be the case, but thought I would ask anyway just in case I had missed something. I will continue to build my own from the resources provided for now.

We should work on pooling ressources we make for our endusers. Any guides or videos. I am unsure what would be the best way to share this but for example, we made a printable PDF “cheat sheet” for the voicemail menus for our customers. Could also be useful to most VitalPBX users and services providers.

Although this one date a little and I am no graphic designer, it could be a start for someone.

YourBusinessVoicemail(2025)-EN.pdf (163.9 KB)

I use draw.io to create this. Let me know if you want the template.

Connexium,

Great job! I wrote up a guide to the Comedian Mail system (wow, I wish there was a different vm system available), but its too complex and confusing I think for our users. I think you are on the right track by creating something short and visual like this.

Yes Comedian Mail was great 15 years ago.
Now, especially with the voicemail-to-email feature, nobody is wasting time with the subcategories anymore. It is absolutely too complicated for our users as well.

I believe it’s still the standard for Asterisk based systems.

To be honest, since users dont even bother setting up their greeting messages anymore, we setup most voicemails with a audio clip from the “Recording Management” where each clip have a Recording Code something like (*010201 for extension 201). And our main contrat usually do the initial greeting for each employes.

Are people getting dumber? In the 90’s, staff were fine with a overcomplicated Northern Telecom (Nortel) phone system with paper lablels on the phone. And now, with 5 inch touch screens they cant use the damn thing anymore.

Thanks for sharing your guide! Ill add it to our ressources
