I have configured a hunt group with the following call flow: incoming calls ring Extension 1 for 15 seconds, then an external number for 30 seconds, and finally another extension for 1 minute.
When I configure this using a ring group that includes the cell phone number, if the cell phone is busy, its voicemail answers the call.
As a workaround, I created a custom application and assigned it to an extension’s “Follow Me” settings. Within Follow Me, I enabled Prompt Callee and disabled all status prompts. I then added this custom application to the ring group. This setup works well under normal conditions.
However, when the cell phone is busy, the caller hears the message: “Sorry, we are unable to locate the person you are trying to reach,” and the call is disconnected.
This issue only occurs when using the custom application. If I call the extension directly (with Follow Me enabled) and the cell phone is busy, the call continues ringing for the configured duration and then routes to the extension’s voicemail as expected.
