Hi everyone,
I’ve been looking into the voicemail/audio transcription functionality available with VitalPBX and have come across an issue that I’m interested in finding a solution for.
At the moment, if a caller leaves a message in another language, for example Punjabi, the transcription is also produced in Punjabi. Technically that’s doing exactly what it’s supposed to do, but for us it isn’t particularly helpful because our team is based in the UK and operates primarily in English.
What I’m trying to find out is whether there is already an option within VitalPBX, or through one of the existing integrations, to take this a step further.
For example:
Caller speaks Punjabi → audio is transcribed → Punjabi is automatically translated into English → our team receives the English version.
Ideally, it wouldn’t be limited to Punjabi. The idea would be for the system to recognise the caller’s language automatically and provide the transcription in English, regardless of which supported language the caller originally used.
Does anyone know if this is already possible within VitalPBX or through an existing integration?
We’re looking into whether something like this could be implemented, and I’d also be interested to know whether other VitalPBX users or providers would find this sort of multilingual voicemail translation useful.
It could be particularly useful for businesses dealing with customers who speak a wide range of languages, without requiring their staff to understand each of those languages.
Interested to hear everyone’s thoughts or whether anyone has experimented with something similar.
