I do beleive also they have active support but replies have been dim.

Sorry to hear that. In our experience, VitalPBX support has been incredibly quick and helpful. We usually try to exhaust all our options before opening a ticket, but when we do reach out as a last resort, they’ve always come through for us. We use the ticket system.
