Hello,
have anyone experience with VitalPBX in one location and a lot of locations with ip phones?
We have a lot of locations connected over VPN to the headquarter.
Is it better to use a SBC or not with vitalpbx?
I have over 50 locations with IP phones connecting back to a VitalPBX machine. It shouldn’t be a problem for you.
Thank you reboot_it,
how connected the ip phones on the remote locations to VitalPBX?
You use a session boarder controller on every remote location or using a available VPN connection same as data connection (IPSec, SSLVPN, wireguard)?
We have several hundred phones deployed. We had issues with Yealink and switched them over to TLS connections which has resolved the problems. No need for an SBC or VPNs to handle NAT in my experience. Newer versions of Asterisk have been pretty good with handling NAT I think.
We don’t use SBC but do have OVPN set up for a couple of rare exceptions. NAT can be a headache but most of the time simply turning SIP ALG off on customer routers fixes any issues we have.
