401 Error Outbound Call with voip.ms

I used to be connected with a 3CX server to voip.ms, but 3CX no longer has a free small version, so now I am trying VitalPBX, it was easy to get setup. extension to extension calling works, as does inbound to my anti-spam IVR, but outbound calls dont work. I am getting a 401 error

The Following fields are not required because they are created automatically by the PBX.

  • Contacts
  • Client URI
  • Server URI

For Incoming Calls, you must set up the “Identify By” with the values “Auth Username, Username, IP

Finally, you must send a valid Caller ID number when placing outbound calls.

ok I cleared out those 3 fields and added a Valid Caller ID number (tried both 10 and 11 digit) and still get Service Unavailable. Inbound calls work

Overwrite CID must be “Yes” or “If not Provided

I forgot to mention it, but I also set the field

Then tried with a different POP server.

same error even with different POPs. (I also opened a ticket with voip.ms)

ok the final setting that resolved the issue was the profile: Default PJSIP profile, now it works
