# Dial by Name Directory

The dial by Name Directory does not work with users who have a middle-name or there’s more than two words in their extension.

For example, is you have **Mr. John Doe** , it will try to match **Mr.** or **John**. Similarly, if you have **Brian John Doe** , it will try to match **Brian** or **John**. Meaning, it considers the second word as the last name.

Use the Alias field on the Voicemail tab to place the name without the prefix.
